School of Manhwa Contents: Pioneer of Field-oriented Education for Web Content Experts
The School of Manhwa Contents at Chungkang College of Cultural Industries provides specialized education with the aim of cultivating industry leaders in the field of webtoons, comics, and web novels. Each semester, students have the opportunity to engage in one-on-one mentoring from the faculty members in critique courses, in addition to recruitment drives by digital platforms and publishers invited in close collaboration with our school’s various industry-academia partners.
The school supports students to create freely through a philosophy of open education with respect for each student’s individual characteristics and values. The liberal arts program and the major program specialized for artistic creation provide a wide range of substantive courses to train web content experts through the course of six semesters in total.
Boasting a specialized curriculum and faculty who are actively at work in the frontline of the content industry, the School of Manhwa Contents at Chungkang College of Cultural Industries has established itself as a global academic incubator for intellectual properties.
Major of Webtoon Comic Contents
We realize in-depth professional education covering various areas of webtoon and comic contents through faculty members who are active in the comic industry such as webtoon and comics, storytelling, illustration, planning, criticism, and education, and specialized curriculum. We support free creative activities through open education that respects students’ individuality and values regardless of style, genre, and content.
Major of Web Novel Creation
The Web Novel Creation Major trains public-friendly content professionals who can play an active role in the storytelling industry. This includes web novel writers, genre literature writers, and various screenwriters, as well as planners and producers in related industries. To this end, students conduct full-scale research and creation of genre literature such as romance, fantasy, science fiction, martial arts, horror, mystery, and thriller, and acquire practical skills in publishing, criticism, and planning.
